PP on Vice Governor Appointment to Be Signed by President Today

Home Ministry Director General of Regional Autonomy, Djohermansyah Djohan, informed that the Government Regulation (PP) as a derivative of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) No. 1/2014 on the Election of Governor, Regent, and Mayor, is now available and waiting to be signed by President Joko Widodo.

The PP has available and is planned to be signed by the president today

As known, this PP is a requirement for Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ Tjahaja Purnama to propose the names of vice governor candidates to the president.

“The PP has available and is planned to be signed by the president today. We have sent it to the president,” stated Djohan, Friday (11/28).

After the PP is signed, Home Ministry can recommend the mechanism of Jakarta Vice Governor election. Thus, Jakarta Governor has a strong legal basis in choose his vice. In the Perppu, it is said that after being inaugurated, governor has 15 days to propose the name of their vice.
